Just real curious on what to expect for Disney Streaming new employee. Laptop choices? WFH or hybrid? wLB? Engineering culture? Health benefits? Medical plan? Anything worthwhile other than Disney Free entrance pass? TC: $150k
Shouldn’t you have asked these questions before accepting the position?
Of course I asked. But my question is more towards anonymous response in Blind community who works/worked at Disney Streaming
Laptop choices? MacBook Pro 16 WFH or hybrid? Both options available wLB? Good, but it’s heavily team dependent Engineering culture? Meh, do see some good signs tho Health benefits? Sucks Medical plan? Sucks Anything worthwhile other than Disney Free entrance pass? Free streaming subscriptions? Nothing else I could think of.
Disney offers a good health plan in California (Kaiser) but other locations don't offer it
Bro ask your recruiter or hiring manager, this is like 101 for you to ask for your hiring loop.

Yoe? How was interview at Disney
Easy as pie
Very uninspiring colleagues, all who have been at Disney for yearrrrs and are securely in rest and vest mode. Self-congratulatory ‘best in class’ emails even though the tech, growth, and innovation is anything but. The talent from Pixar, Hulu, and Bamtech (now DSS) are long gone. Sadly. The brands exist as a shell, the quality long gone. But hey at least you got that park pass. That is, when you can score an employee reservation… otherwise BOL!
Excellent point about the quality being long gone.
Disney people who have been there forever think that everything Disney does is cutting edge/first/best in the industry only bc they’ve been at Disney for 15-20 years stagnating. They have no idea that Disney is actually developing things with crap quality and really just playing catch up to everyone else’s innovations.
