I am software dev with 3 YOE as a Django dev. Now as I am looking for new opportunities I notice most the major companies list Java, Spring as a main requirement for Backend Developer. Django related opening are relatively very less and mostly amoung young startups. (Excluding Exceptions like Instagram, Mozilla) I want to hear out from experienced developers, is Choosing Django as a professional expertise a good choice ? The opportunities of Django are relatively less and I sometime doubt continuing on Django can bite me hard professionally 2-3 years down. #engineering #software #djano #spring #python #springboot #java #faang #career #backend #development #developer
Large non-tech are usually Java/Spring stack, and expect some expertise in it (they’ll test you on it, but you don’t need to be an expert in it). Large tech companies (such as FANG) don’t care about a particular stack just fundamentals. Depends on the company, but at least have your fundamentals down.

Don't focus on the language or framework. Focus on core concepts and learning how to learn
I know this should be the ideal scenario, but recruitment process forces to filter out candidate on basis of tech stack. It's difficult to convey this while Resume screening ! 🤕
