I'm considering applying to major tech firms in the US, but I'm uncertain if they're still open to hiring candidates from abroad. Given recent layoffs and the rise in remote work opportunities, I was thinking imaybe they won't prioritize interviewing individuals requiring visa sponsorship anymore. Does your company interview overseas candidates who will require visa sponsorship and relocation support? I'm also contemplating an internal transfer, but I'd like to gauge if pursuing opportunities at other companies would be worthwhile. BTW, I will need an E3 (not H1B) visa sponsorship since I'm an Australian citizen. TC: 295K AUD (sr dev, 9 yoe) #workvisa #e3 #amazon #google #meta #netflix #stripe #apple #uber
How hard is it for an American to get hired in Australia? Interested in moving there one day.
Very hard. I have been rejected by Australian companies even before recruiter screen
Does Atlassian usually pay Sr Dev new hires with 9 yoe a 300K TC like yours?
$300K AUD is $190K USD
I understand. But $300k AUD is for sure top notch in Australia regardless of yoe. For the majority, $200k AUD is already Four of a Kind if not a Straight Flush.
As probable as winning a lottery. There is high probability that you can be hired remote with aussie pay though
I am looking to move to Australia to find jobs, 290K TC there is not bad, what kind of visa can Americans get to work in Australia? Do we have equivalent version of E3?
I doubt it if $290k AUD is the norm there. No country pays as generously as the US in terms of dollars.
the OP said his TC is 295K and he is still looking to move
Your best chances are to transfer internally
So cringe, there is a bunch of mids from no name companies saying that they dont hire overseas. Of course they still do! But hiring is harder now
And your not a mid?
Well, I am less of a mid then the people complaining and having self pity
Most top firms don’t but consultants still do
Those days are over!
