Had onsite (3 coding 1 sys design), was told that my packet will be sent to hiring committee at mpk to decide whether I'll get offer, but before doing so I should do another sys design round to boost my chance. Is 'sending packet to hiring committee' standard procedure for all candidates, or just for borderline candidates? This is for fb NY office. Just trying to gauge my chance here.
There are 2 committees I believe. Manager committee and director committee after interviewers sign off positively.
Standard procedure. It means you did somewhere between ok-ish and awesome.

No. Candidates that have no chance don’t make it that far. Everyone else does.
It’s not a hiring committee in the same sense as Googles’s version. Those who interviewed the candidates for the role meet to discuss. Outcome can be that a candidate is recommended for hire or no one is selected and the decision is made to keep interviewing other candidates. This is for non-Eng roles but I’m not aware that it is different for Eng.
Eng has a more formal hiring committee process.

I think you talking about group debrief. After that you can be declined, or transferred to HC of other people.
Nope, hiring committee are the people you interviewed with. Yes, there’s a debrief— but the HC isn’t an anonymous committee like the compensation committee.

I had an interview recently too, and seems after it my interviewees had a debrief but it was not certain yes hire so my case was sent to HC too. Feels like if my interview was strong enough it would not go to HC. But now I am waiting if they give me a chance for reinterview or pass.
