Do candidates compete against each other at big tech companies ?

Hey folks, so suppose a candidate is invited to on-site at, say, Google. Is that candidate in reality competing against a number of other candidates or meeting the hiring bar -individually- is the only requirement for that candidate to get the job ? TC: None

In Google, at on-site youโ€™re not so much competing with others but you really are. The competition begins when all the people pass the bar will in team matching. Since you only get a 30 minutes call with the hiring manager, your onsite performance influence if you will be pick by the manger to get the call and the final outcome
