Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
I hate my job so much. Thinking about trying out gaming industry once the market gets better. Ready to take a pay cut to try out new things. Could anybody please share if Riot, Blizzard, EA, etc allow remote work? Thanks! TC 390k, 6yoe
Whats terrible about your job?
Massive pay cut, but yes remote is an option for SDEs. Check PlayStation
I’m fully remote, but it depends on your team. My team has no plans of ever being RTO, but a good chunk of the organization is in office.
What team you on?
Infosec
Pretty good TC for 6 yoe. What's bad about your work ?
Blizzard remote depends on your team. You will likely not get stocks. Your pay will be affected big time. Why leave DoorDash?
Op said he hates his job
EA and Bungie are remote for the most part
Riot allows full remote for very senior and hard to fill positions. Outside of that you need to live within a “commutable distance” from the office you belong to. How much you need to go into the office is dependent on team. A lot of folks go in very seldom.
This information is a bit misleading. We now allow folks living wherever within the same state of their base office. Riot only requires folks to come to office for team events. And the frequency of their team events is up to the teams. (Eg: our team does a week long event every quarter. Remaining time you can work from home) And we require folks to commute to their base office on their own dime for team events. Technically you could be living 2 hours away if you wanted. (That’s what’s meant by “commutable”)
Not EA unless you beg & plead
As you can tell from mixed responses above, EA remote policy depends on team, esp if you are looking at a studio role, culture and expectations differ. On pay - I think we’re paid very fairly, and above gaming industry comps for the last decade but obv still behind the highest FAANG and fintech etc - TLDR highly unlikely you get anywhere near that TC with 6 yoe unless you’re in an insanely niche role with high demand
I thought doordash was remote first?
Yes, remote for most engineers, but I’m leaving once the market gets better.
