The device is essentially a brick if you don’t return it. Someone said they’re offering $1000 to return devices and that you might not get severance if you don’t return it. Dunno for sure I wasn’t laid off unfortunately
The severance is unrelated to the laptop
They let people who had offers rescinded keep them, they wiped the computers to make them as if they are from the manufacturer
My startup just laid off half their employees and I get to keep my laptop. It’s a brand new Apple M1 that’s probably like $6+ so I’m pretty chuffed
