This is just a caution post for those that might be considering. If you are interviewing for Ford ADAS/Autonomy, look elsewhere. The place is a mess right now. Long work hours and weird politics. I noticed several ADAS people on LinkedIn who were laid off last month. What is the reason? Is it because they set up latitude ai in place of argo, and will mainly rely on them for ADAS instead of inhouse teams??
It’s because of poor planning. Lot of people doing the same thing. Rumours around that Latitude is a separate unit as it is expendable.
Are you specifically talking about Dearborn office or Latitude AI team
my guess is he's taking about ADAS (L2) not Latitude (L3) as I heard a bunch of folks recently got let go from the L2 project.
I am referring to both. Latitude AI has better perks and such but they are not safe from upcoming cuts
As a former chassis controls guy at ford I'm not surprised by this. They grew that org very fast and the engineers were Inexperienced. The management style was to get mad about deadlines not being met as they didn't have the domain knowledge to solve the problems
I agree it’s a total mess right now. Around 1000 s were let go last month, the management direction keeps changing every couple of months, starting and cancelling some useless features. Even some good people who were top performers were let go. The ones remaining now are scared because they might be next. Due to this Ford cannot file for any PERM for next 6 months at least. Also there are rumours of next layoffs in September. Checkout this link before you even apply for Ford https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1nHfXKJa
Agree! The PERM is another issue right now. I have heard the rumours about September too. Among all this they want people to focus on work lol.
Used to work in AV and I’m glad I got out after the first round of layoffs a year ago. They’ve been going absolutely balls to the walls cutting people. Plus Farley is a goddamn idiot

How to relocate out of Blue areas?
How long have you been there? And why is their ADAS bad? Isn't blue cruise a thing?
Long enough. The management here keeps changing directions.
