Do not work for Visa, Inc

I started at Visa just under a year ago. This place sucks. No one respects my input because I'm younger. I'm basically just an overpaid intern running errands for my team all day. The offices are fake-hip (e.g ping pong table, open layout). Some smell like sweat, which is fitting given all of the offices are overcrowded sweat shops. Everyone seems miserable at all of them. There aren't enough bathrooms for the amount of men per building and the toilets are so cheap with water conservation they don't flush all the way. Privacy in the stalls is a joke, I'd feel more 20x more comfortable pooping at a crowded mall. They did such a good job at cutting facilities costs that it's almost worth putting on the company website right next to the transaction speeds. None of the senior executives have an IQ over 100 (which is still pushing it). The only competent people I've met are either always travelling internationally or have a very high rank and came from somewhere else. Every project is swamped by what either the financial institutions or credit card processors demand - all of which are running on dirt old tech from the '80s. You're literally just someones b*tch at every beck and call of this company. Even the coolest projects and hackathons are boring. This place is the antonym of innovation. None of the interns want to work here full time and I really get why now. I'd say things are looking down, but this company is such a parasite in the way the world functions that it will probably never die until some revolutionary technology takes over in 50+ years. And that's exactly why it sucks. No one here gives two fucks about anything. They all know VisaNet will keep chugging along, sucking away $$$ from vendors and people not paying off their debt. A literal chimpanzee could make a decent living and perform most of the tasks required here. He could even work from home. 🐒 There are probably a handful of good teams, but you most likely won't get hired for them. I'd stay as far away from here as possible if I was you.

Now this is what Blind is all about. A coherent message, good insight and extremely humorous! Well done.

Try working for Bitcoin, I heard they’re paying in the currency of the future. Plus equity.

Fannie Mae tibco Feb 25, 2019

Bitcoin isn't a company to work for.

Intel x86dude Feb 25, 2019

In the future, there will not be any companies

OP, just one practical question - how can I ask senior executives in my company to let me test their IQ?

Anthem bonog Feb 25, 2019

It’s like guessing a person’s age when you look and talk to him/her.. MOST times you are correct and that’s what OP assumes I guess.

Hahaha.. I like to see my colleagues who lick his manager's ass and compete for low offers for the next promotion. I am glad I have moved out with much better TC. Boring work with incompetent seniors who think they are fuckin good.

Damn I was hoping to go there to retire. I live in Foster City so my commute would be awesome. How is resting and vesting there?

LinkedIn Fruck Feb 25, 2019

Vesting will be in a resting mode .. lol

Visa WFH&OOO Mar 8, 2019

It is the best place to retire. No one works or knows how to work.

LinkedIn Fruck Feb 25, 2019

Glad that I did not join a year back. You could have research a bit before joining visa

Paragraph 2 perfectly describes Amazon in Seattle.
