When I look at levels.fyi, most of the famous tech companies have the levels and salaries all populated. However, for many famous game companies (For example, Zynga, Blizzard, Riot, Nintendo, and etc), not all the levels and salaries are populated except a few like Roblox. I "assume" that is because there are not enough data to populate those. If the assumption is valid, it means, either there are relatively less people joining the gaming companies compared to the tech companies OR the ones that do join the gaming companies are not posting their salaries on levels.fyi. So, what's the case? Does anyone know or have some idea? #gaming #level #salaries #tech #company #softwareengineer #swe #zynga #blizzard #riotgames #nintendo #roblox
Cause gaming companies other than roblox pay so badly, it’s sad because I got into coding because of gaming
levels.fyi is for TC chasers, whereas gaming companies tend to pay less
Gaming companies are crap. Crazy work hours, low TC. It's a sweatshop. Only deluded freshers work there.
If you work in gaming it's 100% for passion. Your pay is so low you would just get depressed looking at what you could be making at a boring non-gaming company.
Gaming companies pay a lot less. Levels.fyi tends to favor higher paying companies.
