I'm a data scientist at a defense contractor doing applied ML/CV with ~6 YOE and a M.S. Undergrad is non technical and M.S. is STEM (non CS, Stats, Engineering). I'm looking at cleared positions with AWS/Microsoft/Palantir or leaving cleared/ defense work for other tech companies. Does it matter what my master's degree was in at this point given several YOE in industry with a M.S.? Would a second master's be beneficial (looking at CS, ML, DS, Stats)?
In your case don’t go for second master’s. Just do an online course + project if you want to learn something in a structured manner.
years of good industry experience worth so much more than a masters degree
