I've come across many salary benchmarks which are significantly lower than actual real compensation across many non-technical roles at tech companies in the SF Bay Area. Obviously, sites like levels.fyi and Blind provide a lot of visibility for Big Tech firms but for other companies, it is hard to gauge. How would you treat all cash, no RSU, no options private company offers? Could the expectations be the same? Assuming it is a big brand established company with a decent market share. #salary #tech #compensation #bayarea #benchmark TC 320 YoE 15
Which comp benchmark site r u referring to
Glassdoor
Salary.com, glassdoor, levels in some cases... numbers are way lower than reality. Blind empowers employees and candidates but I believe there is a parallel HR world across sites that is fighting back.
Prob outdated, or some are non tech roles and salary is actually accurate
It’s mostly just outdated data clubbed in with new. Brining average down
Yes they do it. Same on Blind. Recruiters join and post low TC as apart of Blind tax.

I’m from HR, how do I game levels.fyi and still stay undetected? I’d like to bring down our median salary so we can effectively lowball.
Hi, thanks for the feedback. You are essentially telling me that company HRs are trying to make candidates believe that they can't ask for more and are manipulating feedback and data across sites.
