I’ve heard companies sometimes get incentives for hiring veterans, no idea if this is true or not but it makes me wonder if veterans get preference in a tie breaker scenario, or maybe selected for interviews they’re only borderline qualified for? Disclosure: I’m a veteran.
I think it's less of a formal thing. Generally we just have some skills and experiences that civilians don't. They also have skills that we don't so it's very role dependent. Amazon has recruiters that focus solely on hiring military talent. This is EMEA. Probably same in the US.
I think it will depend on the company. Many do, Lockheed Martin is one of them.
They will get tax breaks. But I don't think it's that big of an incentive

Of all the minority groups to deserve preferential treatment, veterans deserve it the most.
Depends on the person. I worked with a lot of dirtbags while I served.
