Ironically, they want 2k additional engineers next year. Most of their people are based in India. JPMC isnāt looking for quality. They need quantity. And thatās not to say Indians canāt be amazing engineers. I know more than a few that are. Itās just to show that they chose cheaper labor instead of going for the more abundant talent pool. Also, most of JPMC is on monolithic tech. You arenāt changing those old mainframes.
That's true, you have to pay above market rate to get good engineers, at average salaries you're getting average engineers only.
At top band, quality of engineers is same in both US and India, it's just the average/below-average spectrum where it's little lower in India's case.
