It has been 7 years with MS support , level 61 for last two years , have 13 years of total IT experience. I never ever asked my manager about promo in 1:1, I believe manager should know about the team/individual , usually ask about work feedback. Got good feedback from peers and customers and manager. My colleague mentioned in casual talks about their promo status from manager and blah blah. If you are a manger, would you consider good work/ positive attitude for promo or it will only works if you push for it ? TC 120k
Sorry to say but that’s probably why ur tc is what it is. You always need to discuss about your career growth with your manager. There will be several people fighting for a promo. You need to keep reminding your manager. I would discuss my career progress atkeast every quarter if not more often.
I got to second on that. Your TC looks way less as compared to your experience
Bring it up frequently if needed they won’t promote you unless you ask and maybe not even then
If your manager does not promote you you just promote you yourself. The best way you can try is to promote yourself to Google or Facebook though other option exist as well.
Or promote yourself to working less hours
Assume that nobody is managing your career

If you don’t ask, Microsoft will rarely promote you unless you are super genius. I asked for two years then left.
