Hypocrisy of Indians
Hi there, I am currently enrolled in a masters in applied economics program that teaches a good amount of data science and machine learning. I was wondering if doing a masters is required or should I utilize cheaper options such as Coursera and YouTube. I’m currently a data analyst at a mid sized tech company YOE: 5 ( 1 as a data analyst) TC: $82k #tech
Why do people so easily call themselves scientists?
You called yourself 'wINd&FirE' and asking these questions. Lmao. The hypocrisy
I have a hypothesis about this, so I’ll conduct an experiment and make a conclusion from the results.
You don't "need" it, but they tend to prefer people with advanced degrees because it shows you can go off on your own and learn a topic or become an expert without much external support. It's more about the skills you acquire in a master's/PhD program than the degree itself.
yeah for actual data scientist
Typically
Questions like these are usually a poll
No, but most jobs out there require an PhD 🧐
Better to become MLE or MLOps engineer which just needs bachelors
Why do you want to become a data scientist? My honest opinion is that data scientists are the most worthless people in the company. They don't contribute to anything of the company
Your MS should be fine for any job besides research if you pair it with self study and am understanding of the subject matter
You will anyways get laid off
