If Cloud continues to succeed and becomes comparable in size to ads business, which seems to be the positive expectation, do you think TK can be the new CEO and make rest of the Google the biggest customer of Cloud?
TK will never be CEO because google cloud is expected to fail ( or has been failing already)
Absolutely. You can see what Travis did with Uber. I think Google can greatly benefit from his experience, vision and leadership.
Yes post that he will become president of USA and then president of the world position will be created specifically for him
Guys. He’s from Oracle. There’s only Larry and God. And you know the difference between both? God doesn’t think he’s Larry. So now go TK.
Genuinely curious why you think Cloud business is succeeding. Any recent numbers or articles?
There was an article in CNBC yesterday that Epic systems are discontinuing integrating with GCP because of lack of customers
Let us not talk about one data point. When I was in Azure I heard my directors talking about big businesses leaving because of outages and reliability issues, still Azure is a booming business. Still waiting for OP to tell us exactly why he thinks Cloud is succeeding
I agree it’s a single data point. And I was I surprised when I saw this news. The premise that G always wins lost a little bit of water. It could be that the G management’s approach towards enterprise business functioning still needs some changes. Probably major ones. I believe that M has entrenched itself within enterprises and are effectively leveraging their position to win more. Newcomers are being picked out by A. It’s a difficult game to play for G. They do have unparalleled technical talent so they can still fight.
Did you just say Google Cloud is succeeding? Jeez you're really drinking the company Koolaid. GCP is a failure and they've been given a deadline of 3 years to turn it around or they're shutting it down.
Enterprises are not 100% all in on one cloud. Companies like Netflix that were born in the cloud are different. Traditional enterprises are now moving to the cloud and represent future growth for hyper cloud providers. 80%+ enterprises still haven’t moved out of the data center. These Enterprises are hybrid and multi cloud focused and they will use various clouds. There is plenty of market opportunity out there for Google to catch up. TK and an Enterprise first mindset will be needed. Also, when I use cloud, I’m referring to IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
Did you mean to post this in the Google group?
No he just meant to stir up controversy
I think that’s apt.
