Why is our country owned by Israel? I don't want my tax dollars fund genocide. How can we stop this nonsense?
Do you view this as a “trap” that takes away your entrepreneurship dreams, or suck up your soul or deterrent to drive you away from what you want to do? Or do you view this as a gift or privilege as this is so much money to consider it as “trap” #google #meta #netflix #amazon #microsoft #apple
As Mr. Wonderful said, a salary is what they give you to kill your dreams
400k TC is xl large compared to average, with that you can save for a few years and have decent amount to go try building whatever or try a new career If you were an engineer id think you could come back with some reskilling and lower tc. Given decent market ofc Just a matter of perspective. If you tried something else first and it was low paying + didnt give you whatever experience you have, you probably couldnt go get the 400tc job easily
Nope. I took the money for a few years and then ran. It was a blessing that made me no longer worry about money. Now I can take chill roles and walk away from bullshit jobs if I don’t like them.
You are free to walk, if you aren't happy with 400k TC so it's not a trap
At current stock price I'm at this TC so I guess I can comment. I think it is a trap. Even though I'm stressed out of my mind, it is enough TC that I will put up with it indefinitely as I'm the type of person who produces great results under pressure. I think about taking less TC but it financially sets me back from my dreams and I want to be out of the rat race by 40 which my current TC has opened my eyes to. Hit financial independence then do other shit the rest of my life. TC: 402K YoE: 4.25
I thought the same in my 30s... I'm 40 now. Getting out of the rat race is not that easy as expenses creep in (family/kids, things outside of your control). I would recommend not betting all on financial independence and live a better life
You may also die. I'm about to leave Amazon for a lower paying government adjacent job. It will keep me from early retiring but realistically, if I really wanted to early retire/barista fire I could move to a cheaper location today and spend less and only need to make enough to cover expenses (i.e. I could be a dog walker and chill out the rest of the time)
