Maybe push for a signing bonus then?

Microsoft ELGu86 OP Jul 20, 2018

Recruiter said they only offer if it's relocation or competiting offer I have don't have yet but I have FB, Uber and Dropbox interview in pipeline

Microsoft Testmouse Jul 20, 2018

What's your current level and TC (with breakdown)? Maybe we can cleverly use parts of your current comp as a "competing offer" since you don't have one already

Do you like the company?

Microsoft ELGu86 OP Jul 20, 2018

Yeah, work is interesting but not super exciting. People are friendly and hiring manager and team is likable. It's an easy 10 mins commute from home.

Take it

Target perf bonus? That can help with Tc

Microsoft ELGu86 OP Jul 20, 2018

Since this is the verbal offer so I don't remember other details that well but recruiter mentioned there is 5% quarterly perf bonus

What is their yearly refresher? Seems like their pay is lower than msft so long term I'd be wary

If recruiter is pushing too hard, reject the offer. You have other opportunities lined up. Better to find a place where they value your experience and pay accordingly

DocuSign is pretty notorious for both title inflation and below-market comp. Keep that in mind.

What is Indeed TC for 10 year exp? Level equivalent to Amazon sde3.

DocuSign 10charonly Jul 20, 2018

I'm at a different level so my numbers aren't directly comparable. This year's stock refresh was in number of shares, but that was pre-ipo as well. I suspect everything will be dollar-based next year, but that's just speculation. The stock performance is likely to be much different than MS. DS could double much more easily than MS, similarly it could also drop by 75% much more easily if we do a poor job. And it's still small enough that each person's contribution can help. MS used to have the target stock award amount for each level up to 67 on hrweb. It got harder to find over the years, but was still available when I last looked before I moved. If you're close to promotion then that might help with a decision to stay? Personally I'm glad I moved, better work life balance, better TC than MS was, better professional impact. TC is only part of the equation, and if you're miserable at a job it's much harder to excel and get future promotions.

Microsoft ELGu86 OP Jul 20, 2018

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I agree on the stock fluctuation but I think it will go up at least right now Docu stock has either buy or hold rating with future as out perform Reading all the comps here I feeling like TC should have been higher than 200k also bit disappointed that they are not giving joining bonus I am thinking of pushing recruiter to get the TC to 210 but looking at Glassdoor salaries for this position it seems like a stretch
