Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
U need a better offer which is basically Just HFT for NG. 200k cash hard to beat
Bloomberg pays 200k cash for new grads? Since when?
meta i know someone who moved to NYC that received an offer summer 2022 that was 200k all cash. I think $15k relocation bonus. No RSU.
Why would they? Sounds stupid. So much time and effort and not many pass the interview and if they pass not necessarily they will join. So would they the offer? I don’t think so
They would because they hate people who are primarily driven by TC and they’re often desired by candidates due to WLB. Makes them feel in a position to reject and move on to the next candidate.
I think it’s ok politely to ask more. And maybe not a lot more. If someone says give me1.5x when x is the offer, and he is demanding then yeah. If someone asks politely for 1.1x I can’t believe they will pull the offer
I know for a fact they've done it to one person at least while I've been interviewing here
Maybe he was rude when he asked for more ?
Sometimes
Bloomberg does negotiate with experienced hire candidates, especially if they like you/you have a specific experience. New grad hiring is very streamlined, many candidates, volumes of work for HR, tight dates. They may or may not withdraw an offer but your chances of extending the deadline let alone negotiate higher number without competing offers are very very slim.
I might have a competing offer but is outside of their deadline. I liked Bloomberg but it is a pay cut from my current full time role at ADSK
If you are making more in your current role, that's fair to counter. Don't be rude. Just explain that you're currently making X, and you need to make X + 10% to make a change. Be willing to stay at your current job if they won't match.
If you have other offers don't join Bloomberg, it's bad for your career
Job security is insanely good though from what I’ve heard
I think it depends what the other offer is. It’s actually a great place to work. It pays more than a bank but less than tech and a lot less than HFT. I guess it could ruin your career depending on what you want to do and what the role is. Building Bloomberg UIs is kind of a dead end but there’s a lot of good back end jobs. I get contacted by recruiters all the time and people leave for other good jobs. It seems like people tend to leave for Google, Meta, Citadel etc.
Just politely ask if they can consider increasing considering bla bla. Give evidence like inflation, relocation etc. Don't give a hard number or percentage
Don’t give inflation as a reason. Negotiate based on why you are valuable.
Relocation/inflation isn’t a good negotiation tactic it almost never works
Hi, a side question What’s the monthly in-hand paycheck you get if your TC is 110K?
Around 4k monthly after 401k in NYC
I get ~4700 pre-tax and ~3500 take home. This is not in the US and it’s a good salary where I live (I spend ~900/mo). The rest of comp comes from stocks, annual bonus and government mandated benefits (like Christmas bonus, vacation bonus and others)
No, but they don't negotiate much
Gotta have multiple offers
Current pay doesn’t count? They put the deadline before other company onsite
I thought your TC was 110k?
