Does Google care about short stints?
I have an on-site at Google. I quit Amazon after 4 months so left it off resume. Recruiter asked me to include it on resume. Does Google care about short stints as a negative? My reason for leaving was the position was different from what I was sold.
Would be curious to see what People say, I ran into this same issue last yr taking on a role vastly different from what was mentioned in interviews, have tried to make it work to not have a negative perception impact.
They will find out. Via EQUIFAX for example.
I've never seen this before. At least not until the offer stage but at that point they are already invested and interested in you.
A point worth clarifying: the application is the critical part where you list every job. The resume includes just relevant experience. Still have to be careful but leaving things off the resume is not a red flag unless it's also left out of the application or there is a gap with no reason or something.
If u ever got paid by an employer then you should lay it out. It will show up in your background screening. Some background screenings can also go as far as getting a copy of your tax records. Not sure about google.
Yes, that's the purpose of listing ever job on the application rather than the resume.
Absolutely put it on your resume. Amazon does this quite often.

Just perform well at the interview and you will get the job. Don’t think about short stints etc.
Google recruiter told me they frown on anything under 2 years and require explanations on anything shorter
Is this for a SWE position? Most likely no one will even ask you about it

Just be genuine and up front about it! Universally it may be perceived bad - but if you thoughtfully explain why it was cut short ... that may work better! You’re dealing with human beings - don’t forget that :)
Human beings that see tons of resumes, glance over them, and make assumptions for good reasons. I would do the same as the OP and leave it off. People will wonder about the gap but I'd just make up a lie. Recruiting costs companies lots of money so people who jump around are costly.
