I am wondering if anyone has inside information as to whether Google rejects candidates they deem to be too conservative? For example, if you operate or subscribe to Youtube channels with content promoting family values, 2A rights, Brandon jokes, does the hiring committee check for this and hold it against you? Over the last few years many of my friends have applied to Google and several were enthusiastically referred to the HC. Those that were eventually given an offer all have social media profiles that are left-leaning. Sample size is around 8, so this is anecdotal.
This sample size is pretty low to draw any conclusions plus hiring is complex. A hiring decision depends not only on the candidate but also the interviewers themselves. I feel like “conservative/liberal bias” could play into a culture fit, if it it somehow came up in the interview. If you think this is a factor, then either play to it or hide your public-facing info before applying.
Google prefers analytical and methodical thinking, that’s left 🧠 Brandon jokes are too creative and artistic for us. Don’t be evil. + don’t be right.
I vote for Trump proudly, but know it's not good for career to announce it to leftist companies. Instead I take money from leftist companies and give it to conservatives + Trump 😁
Conservative is fine. Just don’t be a James Damore who thinks the hiring bar is lower for women/blacks.
Don't write an internal memo about it!
Yes because the HC has so much time on their hands that they comb each candidate’s social media for political beliefs
There is a leadership & googliness round to boost the scores of diversity candidates. They'll ask you situation based questions and you have to support diversity to get through
even if you hide your profiles, your right-leaning personality will show soon enough and people will just get rid of you. nobody likes to work with gun rights nutjobs obsessed with nazism and what women do with their bodies lol. literally most of the "family values" preachers from the right side are multi-time divorcees.
I’m really curious where family values and name-calling like “Brandon” are compatible. Enlighten me? Does one have to engage in schoolyard insults to be conservative these days? I value 1A as much as 2A, but it seems conservatives don’t. That’s a shame.
conservatives just like to pick and choose the amendments they like, and forget the fact that amendments can be legally clarified and amended as decades come and go.
Conservatives thinking they’re getting discriminated against because of they’re politics when it’s really because of they’re unlikable personalities
Simply asking this question disqualifies you. No. Hell no. Being a bad interview gets you rejected. If your political beliefs show up in an interview, regardless of what they are, that's probably a bad sign.
