Does IBM offer stocks? Starting which grade and how much?
IBM folks can you comment on equity/stock options? Do they offer it at all? If yes at which grade and how much? Is there a joining bonus?

You need to ask for higher base salary instead of stocks. That’s why the few Ex Googlers at IBM have 220k+ base salaries. Advantage is your TC value can’t go down like if it’s RSU so your less risk proned by compromising in higher base.
Yeah but 220 can’t compare to 350+, which likely includes annual cash bonus and stock awards
Agree ... it’s a hard sell. The work has to be so good that it’s worth the pay cut plus a good boos and WLB doesn’t hurt too (aka quantum research... maybe? ). I have an amazing boss and top notch WLB being paid a tad under PMR 1.0 ... it’s not great but it’s not bad and I can live with that ( for now ). Also people make mistakes to factor in stock appreciation... most companies don’t care about that since it’s not necessarily a reflection of the persons abilities but their company as a whole..
They started this thing where top 1/3 of performers get stocks. But they're so low it doesn't really matter. I got like 10k as B8 vest over 2y. Idk the cadence of this program or if they're still even doing it. First time was early 2020 afaik (same time as layoffs...it was pretty sad)
Otherwise I believe stocks aren't a reliable part of comp until B10.
Lol unless you’re applying for an exec role you’re not getting stocks. Joining bonus can be from 5k-15k depending what band
I've seen up to 50k for b8. 25k common for 7. This is all biz side roles though not eng.
