Interviewed with Intel Last week. Haven’t heard from the recruiter yet. But got a mail for background check. Should I anticipate a offer?
Why would they do a background check for a person they wouldn’t make an offer to? Background checks are expensive!
Lol no they arent..
You can run background check on yourself for 20 bucks or less. LOL
Welcome to GPTW, please check your independent thought and ambitions at the door. Time to learn some acronyms: OMGWTFBBQ.
So... may I ask what is BBQ?
Yes
Yes for the OP?
Maybe. But sounds like a process breakdown in their ATS / workflow. Get the straight story from the recruiter, or manager (if recruiter unresponsive).
Background check does not guarantee offer letter. There are various factors to it. for e.g. Req might get closed in between your interview and background check completion. Its a positive step, but its not guaranteed. I’ve had friends who had background checks done for 4 months, without offer letter, I’ve also had a friend who had verbal offer and so she rejected other offers she had at hand, and the verbal offer did not come through due to hiring pause. Stay positive, these mentioned cases are rare, but don’t mistake it for a confirmation.
Background check is a first step to offer. If you pass, you can expect an offer unless situation changed since
So, it means you are definitely on the hot list. If you interviewed in a pool, others could be hired first. If you got to a background check, there is a spot for you in the near future (hopefully immediately). They do not background check people that they will not be hiring
Yes
Usually reqs are timed. In such cases, they want to extend the offer as soon as they make a decision. Few of my friends got background checks even before their onsite.
Nope
