Does KPMG hire external folks at the ‘Partner’ level? If yes, what do they look for in candidates

I have 20+ years of tech experience in the US (US citizen). Past experience includes FAANG Senior Manager roles, and Director at Tier-2 software companies. Is that sufficient to target being hired as ‘Partner’ at KPMG? If not, what levels should I target. I dont see any Partner roles open on the KPMG career site, I see Director roles. Do they hire people at partner levels externally ? What is the TC for a Partner?

No

Insufficient. The main duty of a partner is sales. Do you have a track record of selling professional services?

This - they’ll hire at partner, but not based on YOE or management experience, only based on a track of bringing business

Sales, book of business, and ability to sell what’s left of your soul…

You’d probably come in as Sr Manager or Director role and have to work your way into Partnership. Comp would be 200-250k

KPMG tc=🥜/inf May 2, 2023

Is that Director comp or partner comp?

Cargill urbangun May 2, 2023

Lol. 200-250k can not be Director level comp.. I know folks at Sr Mgr level earning >250k

Target technical/specialist director position/role considering your experience, and you will not need to worry about selling work if that is something you dont enjoy.

I have experience selling solutions (pre-sales) and I have 5 years of consulting experience

If you got contacts with oartners then it is possible. Multiple partners need to approve before an external partner level hire.

KPMG nKsx02 May 3, 2023

Yeah director or Specialist director is the most likely. If you can sell well, upward mobility shouldn’t be tough

How much does a partner make? Also I found from Glassdoor that KPMG offers a retirement pension plan. Is that true? How much does it pay in pension?
