First condolences to those impacted by the layoff, but LinkedIn does seem bloated. In comparison, YouTube has under 10K FTEs and Twitter is at around 1K FTEs. Why is LinkedIn so much larger in headcount?#
more than 50% are Sales
Do they need that many sales people? Still a valid question.
@CapOne Sales Solutions and Talent Solutions posting significant growth. Marketing Solutions flat (while competitors shrink.) Seems maybe we do need them?
Does Google need the number of employees still there?? If that answer is yes it's the same for linkedin
LinkedIn should require no more than three hundred tech employees. I don’t have expertise in non-tech side so not commenting on that. For YouTube it should be no more than five hundred.
You are Jeff Bezos?
"Require" ok. But that's not the point. The point is "optimal".
LinkedIn should be doable with about 500 ppl
Ohh look here comes another armchair thinker. Exactly what we needed.
Looks like blind is teaming up for more LI layoffs 😂
Google probably doesn’t need as many employees either so perhaps you can volunteer to be part of the fat that’s trimmed
Although that's true, they do branch out to a lot of R&D work which hits different product categories. You don't run the company entirely lean in that instance.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
I assume a lot of that is sales & marketing, not engineering
Engineering is also bloated. LI needs severe trimming.
Box isn’t Box bloated too. Psych I know the answer to that question LMAO.
