I’m interviewing with a firm recently acquired by Microsoft. The on-site interview went really well and I am wondering if Microsoft pays the same wage levels to the employees of the acquired firms as it does to direct employees of Microsoft itself. Need to know to figure out if I should be negotiating on those levels? TC - 250k
Yes, I believe so.
I'm certain github and linkedIn have entirely different comp than msft. They may have the same official level and your RSUs will be MSFT but they handle the actual comp themselves.
Thanks ... but why would RSU be for MSGT for LinkedIn when it has its own IPO ? PS - I’m interviewing with a startup like acquisition( <100 people )
They had an IPO, but after being bought they are no longer on the market (all shares are owned by msft)
No, not all. Maybe they do with yours. You should Probably ask your recruiter.
Got it thanks ... The recruiter I’ve been talking to ( during the interview process ) is a direct employee of the start up .... but they mentioned the real offer will come from a Microsoft recruiter/HR

BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
LinkedIn pays more than Microsoft. But it depends on what kind of acquisition it is and how far they are in the process.
Hmm so it’s all separate then .... wonder how they manage it all 😬
There’s nothing special to manage. LinkedIn isn’t integrated with Microsoft. We operate as a separate company still.
