Does Microsoft(India) tries to retain its employee from leaving company for competitors

I am a consistent top performer in my team but I am highly underpaid for my experience If I decide to leave is there any case where Microsoft tries to retain person by giving some ssa or some benefit, so that I don't have to leave such a great team

You are underpaid but love the company. Ask yourself what matters more for you, love for company or hate of low pay. If it’s the latter than grab a better paying job and tell MS the sole reason of leaving. You’ll know if the company loves you back. It doesn’t matter whether they negotiate or not. Focus on what you need.

/\ disagree completely. It's a balancing act. Both loyalty/fondness and pay matter for most people. It's not a binary like you said. Having an option to negotiate (to some extent) would demonstrate that Microsoft acknowledges the difference in value they're giving to you and what other companies are willing to.

@Brazuka ^ Ur theory sometimes really won’t work with Indian mgrs and that too specially in 🇮🇳 Having said that, he is a high performer. He can raise the salary concern and wait for better hike and, if he won’t get then he should make a move. No point of being a “Tree”

Yes Microsoft does try that. Happened to me. MS gave me counter offer when I gave my notice to leave. Although I didn't accept it, but it was a full match to my Amazon offer.

Oh sorry, just noticed "India". Not sure about that, I'm in Seattle.

That’s why I said what matters more. You are always the losing negotiator if you plan on it without an option at hand. Only after that you have options to choose from and you’re life doesn’t depend on the negotiation
