Does Office for Mac suck by design?

I'll admit I'm used to using Windows, but when I joined Cisco, I asked my new manager what everyone uses (they all use Mac in my group) and wished I hadn't. Office for Mac is a dumpster fire of partially implemented features and basic functionality that does not work. I'm left to conclude that some combination of the following is true: it's broken on purpose because MS doesn't like people using Macs and/or MS sucks at software development. Thoughts?

Whatever is not a bug, is a feature. For office on mac, everything is a feature.

I'm not an office power user (I code), but I rarely have issues with it on Mac. But again, I don't use it very often. The issues are more with commodity IT stuff and all the 3rd party hacks. Just changing my domain password will have me run to IT half of the time.

Yeah msft doesn't care about investing time to improve the user experience on Macs, just be glad they decided to release a Mac version of office in the first place for MacOS. On another thought, just take your Mac machine and throw it in the nearest dumpster and get you a proper windows machine.

I actually wish they didn't release it, because then I would have just gotten a PC. Half-assing it (I'm such a transparent way) is the worst of both worlds. It sure as shit doesn't make me mad at apple. I'm so pissed at MSFT about this, I'm hard pressed to ever give them another voluntary dollar again.

I can't cope with Outlook on Mac. I switched to using the web version and find it so much better.
