Hey Blind, I recently was reached out to be a recruiter from Tesla about a scientist position on the Autopilot team. I know they are moving fast and work very hard, but I wanted to know what the TC for this sort of position is? How is the WLB? Also, do you have any advice around what to expect in interviews? I’m currently a research scientist at an Industry lab with around 1 yoe. I work in theoretical and applied DL, but not applied computer vision specifically. Current TC: 200k #machinelearning #tesla #teslamotors
one of my best friends from college works on the autopilot team — don’t want to share too much without consent from him but i know he gave up v lucrative offers elsewhere to take the role 🤷🏽♀️
Whoever he is.. that’s fine. But how’s the overall pay?
like he gave up v lucrative roles to take this role it’s probably decent
From what I hear Tesla’s compensation is not as sexy as their cars
AP team pays very competitive (slightly higher TC, less perks) to FAANG, declined offer to join Waymo.
Would you mind sharing insight into the factors behind going with Waymo over Tesla?
The gross pay was almost identical (5k difference), but Waymo has a lot of perks (401k matching, free food, better wlb) that made the offer much better, plus the talent I interviewed with at Waymo was higher than what I saw at Tesla. This is just comparing the background of people I interviewed with in the two teams (both ML).
Yes. Better than the rest of the company.
The compensation is actually comparable to what FAIR, Google Research etc will offer you. Plus you will be working on cutting edge tech which is rewarding.
Hi, would you be willing to refer me for tesla intern position? I have top tier publications in DL, 4.0GPA, coming from top undergrad and masters
