I want to know whether is there a option for acquired company employees to negotiate salary during acquisition? Can you share your experiences?
We got a pay cut after being underpaid already. I guess it depends on how important (revenue) your adoptive company thinks you are. And what kind of deal your management makes. If you're tied by visas you could basically be sold as slaves and your bosses will brag about how productive you are with so little cost.

depends on how well your compensation fits within the acquirers pay bands. if you're in the range I wouldn't expect an immediate bump but you can always negotiate
Generally yes. I was in an acquisition and got 20% base increase plus bonus and incentive to stay x years. Depends though on your job and the nature of the acquisition

Currently we are a file systems startup in cloud business area and being acquired by the 2nd biggest cloud player, I just don’t want to reveal the names as the official announcement will come in a week or so. And I work in core file systems team, being a new college grad I always felt I was low balled.
It depends really. I've worked at 2 companies that went through an acquisition. I ended up leaving both despite stay bonuses and all that, it just wasn't the job I signed up for anymore. One of them, the acquiring company, was based in the Southeast and salaries were much less there.... They had a hard time understanding our comp plans. The other, had a different marketing model so the upside component was non existent. In either case, since I didn't like the acquiring company it was a moot point. They would have negotiated something that was comparable. The times I've seen more negotiating power is when the acquired company is having an exodus and they need someone to stay that knows what's going on. Then you are in more of a power position.
Not always. But it is ALWAYS negotiable. I held out with one team member during an acquisition and we were the only two to get raises and retention bonuses.
I went through two acquisitions, both of them offered same salaries.
Yeah, in most cases the acquired company isn't going to keep you on the old company's salary bands
