What do they do when you have a competing offer where the salary is 120k higher than salary+bonus band?
If they REALLLLLY want you the top tier companies all have the capability to match. They probably don't want you that much, in reality
No, they won't. They'd rather have someone they could control. They want uniformity so that they can manage people in large numbers. Never assume you're calling the shots. Go where you feel good and will get respect.
Share your offers or GTFO!!
They will apply a discount rate.
You want G to match your funny-money?
I want them to match the salary+bonus that is 120k higher. The funny money, I’m ok with a discount rate but the funny money will soon be real money.
Yes, FB matchers it with Monopoly money
Incorrect. they apply a discount rate to pre IPO companies. Discount can be as much as 80-90 percent
As in, if you have $100 in pre-IPO rsus FB will give you $8 or $9?
Is it Lyft?
They will typically match base and bonus though, If they want you
they will discount it, probably 75%, competing offer only
> the salary is 120k higher Do you include your pre-IPO RSU/options here? They will likely move within the band, it is very hard to get higher than the top of the band (otherwise it wouldn’t be a band...)
No just counting salary + bonus
Wow that’s huge! What are the approximate numbers? I have hard time imagining G bumping the base by ~80k on their offer
