I'm applying to big tech companies right now and I'm not sure whether to check the box. I'm not sure if this is held against me or if I may even benefit from an affirmative action program. Any thoughts? I would ideally love to hear from recruiters / hiring managers at tech companies.
I'm an engineer and work with this type of data everyday. If they have an affirmative action program it will most certainly help you. If the company is on the smaller side it could go either way
What about big companies like Google, Facebook ..etc FAANG ?

Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
Legally it should make no difference due to ADA. In reality, it’s both a benefit and curse. You can opt for help in some ways and that in extreme cases might help. Probably it will make people ask if you are limited in your capabilities. Does it limit you (rhetorical)? If not, do your best and if you feel like you are not treated fairly, many lawyers would love to take your case for free.
