Hi there, I am planning to move out to Stripe. I’m wondering if moving out of FAANG in general to Stripe , it will reduce my chances to get noticed / interviews and negotiate for higher pay as from what I heard FAANG experience provides much more leverage to get interviews and also to Negotiate after getting offered ? I hope I’m wrong , but want to hear the thoughts. ***Please don’t just answer this in perspective of me moving out from Amazon to Stripe .*** Another question: **Also, can I get back to FAANG with stripe on my resume later ?** New to this field. Any insights / thoughts would be really helpful . Thank you . TC: 215k #engineering #software #swe
No
I hope you meant that moving to stripe won’t reduce my opportunity/ chances in future
No. Stripe>Amazon.
Former fang here. Whatever company you work with, only alternate offers matter in negotiations. For being noticed by recruiters, skills / projects mentioned on your LinkedIn matter the most. Getting noticed because of fang should be seen as a red flag
Wow ! That’s a great insight , thank you very much @KVaM18 , so it looks like updating LinkedIn with the right skills and projects matter the most and where I work shouldn’t matter as long as I have the right projects? Also , how as your experience been after moving out of faang ( not sure if you come from Amazon as well ? ) do you keep getting hits from recruiters including faang recruiters ?
But isn't Twitter prefer ex-FAANG? Once hiring guideline doc leaked isn't it?
Came from Google; nonstop recruiter emails have been the norm for the past year, so you shouldn’t have problems.
Wow ! Awesome to know . I’m also guessing apart from your skills and awesome talent, your resume already has google , is that why it might be happening ?
If you’re going from Amazon to Stripe seems like it only strengthens your resume no? Idk how recruiters see it
I think so too, but I’m wondering in terms of general faang , Is moving out of it to Stripe reduce my future opportunities and leverage on getting good offers?
I think Stripe is well known enough (at least within tech circles) that it's equal to FAANG
