Especially if I want to come back to tech when the market recovers.
For now, JPMC is better. Stick with it. If you don’t like it, then hold until market feels better. I just recently joined as a VP too with the same 603 grade.
Do you like the environment there? And is the tech stack really behind? And what about WLB?
what is your tc and location?
Wtf. If you are L6 in Amazon you should try ED at JPMC unless you just want short term job security while you are laid off. Salary and scope both will be small at VP in JPMC. For what it’s worth, many JPMC EDs have joined Amazon at L6 level. VPs never go beyond L5.
I hope someone contradicts this. Are you sure?
Meta is right. L6 to VP( which is a mid at JP) is like wtf are you doing. At least should’ve gotten executive director and I’m not even sure that maps as high as amazon L6
Anything should be better than Amz. Go to JP for a year or so.
Did you get laid off from Amazon? I’m not sure why you’d want to go to JPM, usually it’s the other way around. If your team is toxic at amazon though, then go for it.
Laid off and got offers cancelled, no choice
Fair, can’t be too picky in this environment
Op got piped from Amazon and trying to feel better.
Can someone explain the VP title at JPMC? How can one company have so many Vice Presidents? It sounds super inflated 😂
It’s fucking hilarious. I have friends in finance who flex that title, and most people who don’t know any better think they’re some 20-something year old hot shot
it’s not them, it’s banks or finance in general VP is merely the 3rd level
Amzn laid off ML?? my impression is Meta never froze ML hiring
Just recently interviewd with JPMC ML team. The ED I spoke with are definitely second-tier and they dont seem to care about what they are doing. Generally just dispassionate people.
Mine was ML concepts + ML design + Presentation (no coding)
Mine was similar as above plus on LC medium. I'd say that u should spend less time on the presentation cuz they were not listening at all lol.
Dont join jpmc. Its not exciting! Anyway, TC?
It is not but the market sucks. Amazon: 400K, JPMC: 300K
which position paying you 300k? is it senior vp? Is it 605 position? Normally jpmc pays 200K for vp
