The pip itself was mainly specific but everything was extremely achievable. He offered to meet with me 3x a week to make sure I'm on track, which if I was dead makes me think that isn't true
Maybe your manager wants you to do well and beat it but PIP is designed to start the firing process (or at least it has become this way now). Start interviewing. If higher management wants you to leave there is literally nothing your manager can do to cover.
If he's offering you his time and it's actually achievable, maybe you're ok. My concern is: You may think it's achievable, but I assume you also thought meeting their expectations pre-pip was achievable. Is there a gap in your assessment of your abilities or your ability to execute on the work?
Definitely start leetcode
I think the PIP boils down to "Be more professional". My take away is my ability to perform the job doesn't really have anything to do with it, I got Meets Expectations on my review in February.
I'm also leetcoding and getting ready to interview right now.
PIP = legally sound firing
Are you on focus or PIP
PIP
Then you are dead … he let you fail Focus first and now wants you pass PIP what a joke
Maybe he wants you to beat it this time but he’s definitely building a case against you. Even if you stay, start interviewing because the easiest thing for your manager will be to tell you things haven’t been going so well in the last month and so you got a bad rating and there’s was a PIP so it’s a trend, see you.
Pip is to fire you. Start interviewing
