Recruiter said he expects that they will make an offer, but the total comp package is only 5% more than what i currently make, but requires rto 3 times a week. Thats not worth it for me as im currently remote. Is there a chance they would budge to something higher, say 30% or are they fixed
Nope highly unlikely. They will play the“oh the stocks are gonna go u so don’t worry “ card
How should i counter
Push back on the recruiter and be prepared to walk away from the opportunity.
Its a difference of 60k, guessing it will be a dealbreaker? Im prepared to walk away
Try your luck on RSUs
He told me the max band of rsus for the role, would they go past it
I think other offer may help in this case
Panw is screwing up everyone internally aswell. I sense they would like to see forceful attrition since they overhired since 2020. It is highly unlikely they would offer 30% more externally in this environment. I personally am preparing to leave soon…
Walk away from the offer. It’s 3 days RTO now, three months ago it was “work wherever you want, this program is here to stay!” I wouldn’t be surprised if it was 5 day mandatory RTO three months from now. Leadership is duplicitous and the company is tight with compensation. General consensus among folks I have chatted with is that this feels like an exercise to get people to leave voluntarily so I wouldn’t expect the company to budge at all on the RTO mandate OR compensation.
I have heard pe offers still going out at 330k total
I worked at PANW from 2012-2019. The culture went to shit. They are pretty inflexible with offers. Company has NEVER liked WFH so expect 5 days in the office sooner rather than later. I have mixed feelings, the work was great but the culture sucked add.
Highly unlikely. They are pretty rigid about this unless you can get yourself upleveled.
