Does the American dream still exist. Earning 35lpa in India at 28 age. Being ambitious I wanted to be in the USA.

Current TC: ₹35 LPA fixed [IND] YOE: 5.5 I am right now 28 years old and want to pursue MS. But I'm kind of confused. Is this the right age to pursue MS now? As I will be graduating at 30 and after paying loan at 31 will be starting again from 0. Also VISA stress and marriage problem (Yes, I want to be stable at the right time) after 31, all the struggle in the USA. Is it worth going for MS now considering my current salary in India. Also I could use these 3 years to build something of my own in India. How is the scenario in the USA right now and will be. VISA stress hyped or is really the situation that much worse over there? Does American dream still exists? #MS #Software #Help #CS #Engineering #SDE #google #microsoft #faang #amazon #tech #graduation

Yes. Look at the number of people who started with nothing and made millions in the us— you’ll see them on blind too. From 30-40 you can easily make a few million in savings

Is visa stress guaranteed, I've heard once you get H1B, as long as you are not fired, you won't ever have any issues

Not worth it. If you invest the time and effort required for masters application in interview prep you can get close 60-70lpa job in India. Chill and enjoy life with that money. Don’t get obsessed with saving money

I would suggest coming here. The worst case is also the best case. If you get a job in Maang, you can easily pay off your loan within a year. You work here and save some $$$. Even if you are laid off or forced to return back after 2 years, you have acquired experience working in a country that leads in tech. You wouldn't struggle to find a job back in your country. You would have exposure to a new country, a new culture, and the growth is exponential. I completed my masters at the age of 26. I am 30 now, but I'm in a much better place financially compared to my peers working similar jobs back in India. It's a hard truth, but it's a truth. Tldr, even the worst case, is a best case compared to earning 35LPA working the same job, which pays 200k USD here.

Visa stress and housing stress. You will be 45 before these stresses are manageable.
