Does this career ever turn into a stroll instead of a sprint?

2 yoe, 245k I’m still new to my field, but does this job ever calm down? Do you ever reach a point where you’ve more or less seen everything and the stress dies off? Looking ahead it feels like just surviving in this field means constantly working 50+ hours with at least 10+ hours/week additional learning

Frugality is an LP. It's just one "pip"

As long as you are chasing promo and $$, no. I know a manager at Amazon who joined 16 years ago as an L6 SDM and retired couple of years ago as L6 SDM. He is very clear on priorities in his life.

Amazon job requires u to perform at next level or else pip?

Amazon opygvbb Aug 27, 2021

L6 is a terminal level. You can stay at L6 as long as you want. My previous team TPM is at L6 for more than 10 years.

You could do something else where you don’t make 245k with 2yrs of experience.

Become a troll, work will be a stroll

At Amazon no, or maybe you just embrace it. I spotted one of our L7s the other weekend on a Sunday downtown, drinking a beer, working, while his wife tried to get their baby to stop crying. I’ve definitely seen it be more of a stroll elsewhere. Google was relaxing af. People spent half the day doing random stuff like going to the barista, ping pong tournaments, soccer, etc.
