I see that Fitbit has their job postings on Googles career website. I see some people working at Fitbit writing that they work at Google in their LinkedIn profile. But Blind treats Fitbit as separate from Google So if you work at Fitbit, do you say that you work at Google when someone asks what you do? Do you get the same benefits as someone at Google? If you work at Fitbit, can you transfer internally to another team/org at Google? Can someone working at Fitbit explain what the connection to Google is? Are Fitbit employees treated like Google employees? #fitbit #google #tech
I have prior Fitbit employees on my team. Fitbit is pretty integrated into google
Can you elaborate on what “pretty integrated” means?
The employees that worked for Fitbit at time of acquisition are being dispersed throughout Google on many teams
Google purchased Fitbit and Google health is doing research with Fitbit
It depends if Fitbit is under Google or Alphabet.
This ⬆️ I think it also depends. At Amazon, I can look up Whole Foods employees in our Amazon employee directory but I’m not sure if they are integrated to our employee tools or our internal Amazon webpages— they may have their own internal site tailored to WF and their own tools. For example, Amazon’s leadership principles drive a lot of what we do, but you will see that Whole Foods has its own leadership principles and it’s own culture: https://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/mission-values/leadership-principles Here’s Amazon‘s leadership principles: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/principles If they have a different culture, leadership principles, can’t access company internal webpages which often includes confidential updates about the parent company — I personally would say no
According to Wikipedia the parent organization is Google. “In January 2021 Fitbit was acquired by Google and absorbed into its hardware division.”
