Before joining Microsoft, I worked at a privately owned small sized company that had a 9AM start time for all its employees. After joining Microsoft, it was like my manager was too busy to give a shit as long as I got my work done. This is a huge perk imo. What other companies allow this? What companies dont?
MSFTBRO, care to refer me? 😊
Groupon doesnt do this?
Totally depends on manager. My team doesn’t.
When I was at Microsoft, I used to meet my manager once a week. He wouldn't even know if I took off without informing him.
Is roku not the same?
Well we do not have closed offices, I see my manager almost daily, and we actively talk and exchange ideas
Amazon... most teams don’t care in case of semi-decent SWEs at least.
Yes. I still come in 15-30 min late as do most the new grad hires lol
Wow 30min, You’re a badass!

Yes they told me to come in before noon (new grad)
I regularly walk in 90-120 minutes late. I leave on time or stay behind 30-60 minutes. Nobody has ever mentioned it even once and I keep getting wild praise for being a high performer. I haven't been in the office at 9am since my first week.
Do we still have companies imposing a start time? That sounds so 1980.
I come whenever as long as work is done.
