Update: I'm safe, but I am devastated by the news :( ------------------- Can't wait until Wednesday to see what happens. More than half of the team has announced 1-month long vacation next month: code freeze + (Chinese) new year + work from other country etc. Manager has never discussed need support or intensity etc. He only confirmed that there would be no change to the team. We trust him (he's Indian btw). Stock is miserable, and I'm also thinking about jumping ship due to that. But everything else has not changed, the people & work environment are still amazing. Edit: the shit I'm talking about https://www.teamblind.com/post/Meta---Upcoming-Layoffs-NtGUdb6b
1 month long vacation? Is it paid
no wonder the stock the tanking
those people uses some advanced PTO of 2023 (need approval from manager)
I know the stock is low but I wouldn’t jump ship. I’d stay there and ride the recession out
Yes, better to wait till Trump comes back to make America great again
If only…
What are you talking about ?
Supreme leader, is that you?
Chinese new year is in late Jan next year btw…
chinese new year is not next month
I really wish you don't have one , but stock is up because of the layoff news , so if no layoffs it will plunge more , which is actually really sad
That's why many people post how suprised/shocked when they are laid off. Even not this time, these news will push people away without having to pay severance package. Then Zuck only need a smaller layoff to adjust by the end.
Your manager wouldn’t know. None of our managers knew when the freeze started.
Wtf does your manager being Indian have to do with this lmao
@Meta I kinda have to agree. I’ve had 6 indian managers/leaders so far in my life. All but one were bad at team management, balancing work and prioritization. I am an indian and I am not being racist, but just quoting personal experiences I had in my work life so far.
TC?
