DoorDash tip

Do you tip DD? I specifically instructed the driver to delivery at the lobby but they always bring it to my apartment, which is very nice of them. But I tip $0, and unable to tip driver after delivery finish. I don't pre tip bc I had really bad experience with a delivery person even when I pre-tipped. Why DD doesn't have option to tip after delivery?

Why punish all drivers because of one bad experience

Bloomberg RedRomeo28 Aug 16, 2022

Restaurant could always just raise the price to include the tip. That'll solve this issue and get rid of non-tipper. Unless the driver rather gamble for for potential higher tip than a steady but lower tip

TC (driver): 12k TC (OP): unspecified gtfo (snap though) You can probably spare a buck or two for making some poor soul deliver McDonald's to your doorstep. I bet you asked him to do the dance too.

I don't want to paymore than what i'm willing to pay. And hence I gave instructions to leave at lobby

Tell me you are cheap without telling me you are cheap

Snap nittti OP Aug 16, 2022

wdym you mean cheap? Without tip, it's an additional 10-15% increase. With tip it could easily go to 30%+ range. I'd rather have DD be honest and show delivery fee upfront. The tipping bs adds so much pressure everytime. Also you have to add tip BEFORE the delivery. 50% of the time the driver had to call me to come down, I ended up having to look for them. i dont think 5-10 dollras tip worth that shit

That one bad experience seems like an excuse to justify yourself not tipping. It's hard for gig economy workers. A few dollars isn't probably a huge deal for you but it adds up pretty quickly for them. They are providing a service and not tipping them for it isn't fair. Imagine if your company decided to give you $0 bonus. How would you feel?
