I've had drivers in the bay area tell me this as well. I've stopped tipping on doordash as a result. At least Uber eats is honest about this shit

This makes it even for the doofuses who don’t tip. So if someone tips and another customer doesn’t tip, it gets spread evenly. Like if I am a dasher and one guy doesn’t tip and the next guy tips, DoorDash makes me whole by covering for the first guy that didn’t tip.
That's why I never tip on food delivery apps ..
