I agree. I don’t see the point in layoff rumors. It’s just safe to assume that if you’re at an unprofitable company, then you should be paranoid about layoffs.
Its not like google, amazon, meta were all unprofitable. You should be paranoid anyway in this market
Well exactly, but those companies also overhired like crazy the past couple years. Their layoffs are more so due to trimming the excess. The unprofitable companies need layoffs to weather the storm on the horizon. It’s funny constantly seeing questions “are the worst of the layoffs behind us?” We’re not even in the recession yet! These are the very early innings. Big tech has been trimming excess and real estate has been hit hard by the rate hikes, but second half of the year is likely when the rest of the economy starts contracting and that’s when the real job losses will start happening. Fed thinks we’ll be at 5.5% unemployment by end of year.
I see their number of job postings has been increasing these days. So I guess not.
That’s for backfill
Why does dd try to hire new people instead of brining laid off folks back?
If the company is not making profit you should always expect layoffs
Op looking for info to trade on stock lmao
Is Doordash making profit yet?
Can you explain?
I don’t trust their business model. I think it’s similar to Lyft, fast-growing, good pay but without profitable and sustainable model. 30% layoff is anticipated.
Insider trading very nice
Truly the way to get accurate info is to make a poll with two extreme options that is open to everyone, even those who have 0 knowledge about the subject /s

Please don’t post rumors in this channel. You’re not helping anyone/anything. If you want chatter, turn on the radio.
Its a question, not a comment/statement.
No, rumors are good. Look at Shopify, rumors turned out to be true and execs are caught blatantly lying.
