Got an L4 offer from Google. TC is $340k/year (excluding sign-on and refresher). I heard this number is already the median of their L5 new hires. I'm L5 at my current company. Also got L5 equivalent offers from a few companies that are going public this year or 2020. The highest one has a TC of $480k (based on preferred price), plus similar sign-on and refresher. (Edit: actually, two other companies also offer close to $480k.) Both offers are after one round of negotiation. Assuming that both offers are final, should I choose Google for their reputation? (Edit: those who voted for Google, what are your reasons for choosing Google besides reputation?)
You mentioned 480k based on preferred price. Shouldn't you be looking at 409a valuation price instead?
For pre IPO companies, 409a price is very close to preferred price
Ok. I just accepted Airbnb offer and the stocks were offered at $105 which was their last 409a. Thanks!
Why not wait until Uber goes public first?
4+ years at uber already
I see. I hope you get a good strike price for the pre ipo
the startup for sure unless it’s Juul
Airbnb right?
My bet is Pinterest
I got offers from both. Their numbers are indeed very close.
Just left you a message. Please reply! Thanks
Google koolaid sure doesn't worth 140k.
340 on l4 😮. Good for you man..
For people who PM'ed me about which company - TC from top pre-IPO companies (Uber, Lyft, Airbnb, Pinterest, Stripe, Robinhood) are similar.
Can you provide your approx breakup of TC for pre IPO and Google? I'm also deciding between these two
All my other offers have higher cash portion and higher equity portion than my Google offer. I guess I didn't perform at my best in Google's interview, as it was my first interview in series and I wasn't in the "interview mode".
