Apple is in "protect the moat mode"...and it's crumbling slowly. They are behind in AI and bet big on AR (where they were also behind), so I don't see them expanding the moat much. And I think they've already peaked how much they can milk their fans for service money. It could be the beginning of the decline
Ai is yet another fad. General AI is still decades away and generative ai has peaked. It’s the same problem every FAANG company has had. How do they expand out of their core market? Pretty much the only option is for them is to make a new market and hope it takes off.
After trying for many years to avoid being captured by any “ecosystem” (tried Google pixel and iPhone, used windows and Linux desktops, etc) I recently went all in on Apple. If device cost is insignificant to you, and you don’t have a very specific niche need, then Apple is simply best That said, 2.7T market cap is pretty outrageous. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a big drop from here. Apple is great but it’s not like you can generate infinite money from phones, watches, laptops, and related services; and I’m not convinced on Vision Pro and such
