Strictly looking to use credit union. I am on H1B. Looking for two things: (1) Zero dollar checking account. (2) Highest interest savings account. I know Alliant CU is there but it is not in Seattle Area/ Washington.

Why not use a non credit union if those are your criteria? Ally. Schwab. Etc. They do 1 but beat credit unions on 2 by a large margin.
Network of ATMs in CU is huge. Plus, zero to low banking fees in CU.
There are zero banking fees and good banks let you use any/all atm regardless of brand or location for free (vegas bars and credit unions included)... so again why not use a good bank instead of a credit union?
Would look past credit unions, specially if you travel for work. You can get better savings rate online, and almost everyone is offering zero dollar(no fee?) checking.
Had chase and wells fargo before. So now I've have become biased on CU. That's why I asked for CU. I think I can see one or two banks also but still CU is a priority. Keeping two bank accounts.
Just trying to understand what a credit union provides that online bank doesnt? I'm not preaching chase on you I dont work in that area but what are credit unions offering that is better?
Becu, Salal, firsttech all are good ones matching your criteria. One may offer good savings rate today and other may get better tomorrow.bso you have to keep checking once every quarter. Non CU based banking institutions are notorious on adding fees and charges that you can't even dream of. CU are best from that perspective. You can use capital one or some other purely internet based institutions for rates on savings and transfer electronically between local CU and internet bank.
I have GS for savings. Banks are painful on fees and minimum balance. I read a lot and CU is best for income less than $1M/year. Banks are good for international banking. I want to keep my money split amond different CU which are part of network. I have DCU now but wanna have another one.
Credit unions in Washington are mediocre. Good service but savings rates are crummy. Keep your savings elsewhere. Pick a CU with branches convenient to your work and home.

What do you mean? Can explain "for no credit" part? :)
Use bankrate.com to find the best rates.
I think BECU offers a deal for Amazon employees.
What kind of deal do they offer?
They give you a free banana with your free debit card. 🤭🤭🤭
