Me and my spouse have been thinking of having a kid, but have heard varied response from different people. Would love to hear the Blind fams thought about how having a kid changed their life. TC : 480k YOE : 7 #tech #kids #babycenter #life
How old are you? We are considering too but want to wait a bit longer to enjoy DINK life :)
33 yeah if you are young then makes sense to optimize for enjoying life and other hobbies that you might have
We are 29/30, we‘ll probably wait a year or two more. The issue is once you are ready a baby might not happen in a year or two, we might have fertility issues etc.. that’s the scary part :/
No free time. Priorities change to 99% kids 1% everything else. If you love them, they will love you. You are their everything. Power to shape someone's life, make them get more TC than you, etc. It's definitely tough.. tougher than any OnCall.. you are OnCall 24/7, changing diapers, dealing with sickness, tantrums, etc.
You are tired all the time but you wouldn’t have it any other way
thanks for sharing this !!
So tired
wow, is that for first few years or until they get out of the house
Shit, ours isn't even 2. She just get up so early, every single day...
Say goodbye to: - Sleep - Clean house - Quiet time for hobbies - “Free time” - The freedom to go out and do anything alone with your spouse On the plus side you get the satisfaction of watching them grow into little humans that you’ve modeled anyway you want. Eventually they become self-sufficient but then you are paying $$$$$ for college so 🤷♂️
Thanks for sharing both sides of the story
I love it . I was very skeptical at the beginning . But my kid asks lot of questions and is very inquisitive and I like it .
Thats great, happy for you !!
Push my retirement age to 10+ years. No more carefree vacation And everything others said
stay strong. With a few job switches I am sure you can hit your retirement goal on time
Say goodbye to freedom, money, time, hobbies etc. Say hi to sleepless nights, anxiety about their future, tantrums, school work, non stop feeding & cleaning up. But you’ll love them more than anything/anyone. Kids give you all the love & joy in the world while being a pain in the butt.
Thanks for sharing your perspective
