Heard from a former employee that Layoffs are likely. Anyone heard something concrete? Timothy’s departure and hiring freeze would indicate something similar. I work at Dropbox but use an old handle TC: 375k #layoff #dropbox @dropbox
Every employer will now try to reduce costs by using mass layoffs as an excuse
They already did one round in 2021. I've heard things aren't looking great internally and were hiring pretty aggressively. Hard to say, but I don't think anyone is safe right now
Dropbox definitely wasn’t hiring aggressively lmaoo. Where are you getting this information from. We’re still pretty lean and our stock is doing better relative to tech companies in the market. The only thing I can see Dropbox do is be more strict on their performance to avoid slackers, considering natural attrition has dropped in this market.
We literally have the lowest # employees since 2019 lmaooo
Wtf thats news to me. I saw a bunch of new postings on the careers website so not sure how credible that is. Fingers crossed tho.
There is only one informative indicator of a layoff. That is the percentage of revenue growth vs employee headcount growth. Anything else doesn’t have a strong correlation.
They just did huge reorgs, so I could imagine that some positions would seem redundant after that.
